In order to get funding for cleaning up your leaking underground storage tanks in Florida you need to visit the Petroleum Cleanup Programs page on the Florida Department of Environmental Protection’s website. There is a list of eligibility programs, two of which are still open.
These programs that exist are not the easiest to get into because even though they are technically still open, in one case, the contamination that would be eligible must have happened before 1995 and in the other case the facility must not have stored petroleum products since before 1990.
Obviously, these programs won’t be useful to everyone, but if you are one of the lucky ones who qualify, some of the costs associated with assessment and cleanup of the eligible contaminated will be paid for by the state of Florida.
If you have any questions about if your site qualifies for these programs please reach out to me.
